Activision and Treyarch announced that they aren't done with the zombies in the Black Ops series. In fact, Treyarch has a bit of swan song for the zombies in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series called "Zombies Chronicles," and it will be coming first to PS4 starting next week.
The pack won't come cheap, though. You'll have to pony up $30 to get your hands on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles expansion. And yes, it's an expansion pack not a standalone game. In fact, you'll have to own an original copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 if you want to get your hands on the new DLC. Thus, if you don't own a copy of the game you'll have to pony up $30 bucks first, which is how much a brand new copy costs for the PlayStation 4. Additionally, if you plan on getting the Gold Edition of the game, it will run you $40. So, in total, you'll either be paying $60 for the full game and the new expansion, or $70 if you get the Gold Edition.
Alternatively, you could always get the game used for a few bucks cheaper, which might run you between $15 and $20. Of course, you still won't be paying anything less than $45 for the complete experience.
And speaking of complete experience... the game will feature all of the previously released zombies maps for the game. They quickly do a flyby of each scenario in a story trailer they released for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 expansion, which you can check out below.
As the trailer depicts, the Zombies Chronicles will date all the way back to Call of Duty: World at War, which is where it all began. It will include all of the maps leading up to the latest Black Ops 3.
All of the features from Black Ops 3 will also carryover, retroactively, into the older maps. So all of the visual enhancements will be present from the 2015 outing, along with the use of custom weapons, the perk machines, and the latest in both audio and AI enhancements.
They've also opened up pre-orders for the digital content, which you can secure right now. Some people have complained about the price, noting that it's almost about as expensive as a new game. Others were fine with the price because of how much content it contains.
It's only going to be available digitally and will release first on PS4, and at a later undisclosed date for the Xbox One and PC.
