December is right around the corner, which means it's time to take a look at what gamers can expect out of PlayStation Plus come next Tuesday. From a pair of games on each PlayStation platform to some monster-sized goodies, there's a little something for everyone on the horizon.
Let's just kick things off with the list. Here's the main event for PlayStation Plus in December. Games will be available starting next Tuesday, Dec. 5, through the first Tuesday in January. If you're a member of PlayStation Plus, you can download each game onto its home console at no additional cost on top of your annual subscription. We'll talk a bit more about some of the standouts, as well as additional fringe benefits for Plus in December, in just a moment.
Darksiders II: Deathfinitive Edition (PS4)
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends (PS4)
Syberia Collection (PS3)
Xblaze Lost: Memories (PS3)
Wanted Corp (Vita)
As always, Sony has put together a little highlight reel focusing on the PlayStation 4 Plus offerings. We're not sure why they don't offer a little something from all six games, but thems the breaks.
Darksiders is one of my favorite (and one of the most underrated) series from last generation. The recent remakes take everything that was good about the action romps, spruces things up a bit and, for Darksiders II, throws in the DLC for good measure. With the third game in the series finally coming together, now might be a good time to check out the Deathfinitive Edition of Darksiders II. The PlayStation 4 is also getting a Kung Fu Panda fighter that's similar in design to games like Smash Bros., so that's definitely worth checking out if you want to kill a few hours with friends on the couch.
Over to the PlayStation 3, a visual novel set in the BlazBlue universe is available in the form of Xblaze Lost: Memories, with Syberia Collection providing a pair of remastered adventure games set in a realistic, yet magical world.
Finally, onto the Vita and you've got a well-received Metroidvania adventure with Forma.8, as well as the top-down shooter, Wanted Corp.
Some extra bonuses are also being thrown into the mix this month. Another PlayStation VR title can be yours for free, and it's one of my favorite games for the platform, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
There's also going to be an exclusive Monster Hunter: World beta for Plus subscribers, which runs from Dec. 9-12. Players will head into the ancient forest to hunt a Great Jagras and an Anjanath before heading into the Wildspire Waste to track down a Barroth. If nothing else, that should be more than enough to help players decide if this next Monster Hunter is right for them.
