Ubisoft has a very special treat in store for Ghost Recon: Wildlands users: The Predator from the movie franchise Predator is joining in on the fray. This isn't just any old update, though, this is a special update featuring a Hunt challenge for players to cooperatively work together to take down the intergalactic hunter.

I'm not sure what kind of deal Ubisoft struck with Fox, but the studio managed to capture the same look and sound from the original Predator. The trailer has the Ghosts dressed up like the commandos from the movie and they even recite a few of the movie's more memorable lines.

Apparently this was a joint venture between Ubisoft and the new subsidiary from 20th Century Fox known as FoxNext Games. I suppose it's as close as we're going to get to a decent Predator game apart from the 2010 outing from Rebellion, Aliens Vs Predator.

The trailer features a trek through the dense part of the Bolivian jungles. Cinematically it actually looks very close to how John McTiernan had the first movie shot. In a way it's also kind of fitting given that McTiernan had directed one of the live-action commercials for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, as reported by Horror Freak News.

Starting December 14th and lasting up until January, 2018, everyone who owns Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be able to jump into the all new fight against one of the most iconic sci-fi villains of all time.

This is a special Challenge Hunt that will be available for those playing single-player or those playing in the four-player co-op.

For those who successfully defeat the Predator, you'll be rewarded with exclusive items that will be unlocked, including a Predator mask that contains the thermal-heat vision, and 15 all new customization items, including weapons and even a new CQC move you can use.

Ubisoft is also including a new Ghost War PvP class inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, Dutch, from the movie Predator. You'll be able to play the new character class if you own the Season Pass or if you use the Prestige Points to unlock the class.

But, it doesn't end there, there's a also a new Jungle Storm expansion that will add new ranked play, a new Pathfinder class, and additional gear, gameplay features and PvP modes. So, if you've found yourself getting bored with Ghost Recon: Wildlands, there's still new content to encounter and a lot more gameplay on the way.

The best case scenario for this would be that maybe a new Predator game could be in the works based on the Ghost Recon: Wildlands engine. Fans of the horror sci-fi franchise can always hope, but in the meantime you'll be able to face off against the Predator in a limited time challenge event.
