Namco Bandai has released the first trailer for Armored Core: Verdict Day. The trailer, entitled "Siege," offers a glimpse at the post-apocalyptic world in which the game takes place.
Verdict Day depicts a future in which the world has been torn apart by war. Resources are scarce and several factions battle for what remains. Players create squads of up to 20 members and align themselves with one of these factions. The game's persistent multiplayer mode chronicles the perpetual war for territory.
The Operator Mode from Armored Core V's multiplayer returns in Verdict. One member of the team is designated Operator and oversees the battlefield. It's their job to direct their teammates by marking targets and setting waypoints.
Verdict Day takes the Operator Mode one step further, though. The Operator can now command a squad of A.I.-controlled mechs. This means that, even if your teammates don't listen to you, you can still make an impact on the battlefield.
Namco will release Verdict Day this summer on Xbox 360 and PS3.
