Today gamers can begin playing The Tyranny of King Washington, a new downloadable campaign for Assassin's Creed 3. The first episode of the campaign, "Infamy," is now available for purchase.
Tyranny of King Washington begins with a new king being crowned in America: George Washington. Instead of establishing a republic, Washington has decided to seize power for himself. Ratonhnhaké:ton, the Mohawk warrior you know as "Connor," sets out to dethrone this tyrant.
In this alternate version of history, Ratonhnhaké:ton never became an Assassin. He might not have as many gadgets as he does in the normal campaign, then, but the upside is that he has a new set of "beast powers." These powers let him enhance his strength, become invisible or move quickly.
The King Washington campaign will continue in two additional episodes. "The Betrayal" will debut on March 19th. The campaign will wrap up with "The Redemption," arriving on April 23rd.
"Infamy" has been released on Xbox 360 and PC thus far. Look for it to hit the PS3 later today with the PlayStation Store update. The Wii U will eventually get the content as well, but Ubisoft hasn't provided dates for that platform yet.
