During EA's E3 press conference, DICE showed off the first footage from Battlefield 4's multiplayer. Today they released a handful of high-def screenshots culled from the "Siege of Shanghai" demo.
Battlefield 4 maintains the basic structure of BF3's multiplayer. Players organize themselves into squads for large-scale battles with air, land and sea vehicles. The character classes appear to be the same four from BF3 as well.
There were a lot of meaningful changes on display in the demo, though. A new Commander mode allows players to issue orders and even call in Tomahawk missile strikes. The in-game destruction has been taken to a new level as well, with players able to level a skyscraper in a multiplayer match.
Console gamers will experience one of the biggest challenges, though: player count. In BF3, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were restricted to 24 players in a multiplayer match while the PC edition supported 64. Xbox One and PS4 matches will both, like the PC, support 64 player matches in BF4.
BF4 is due in October. If you haven't seen the multiplayer demo yet, you should really check it out.
