Visceral Games and Electronic Arts will be releasing the big Robbery DLC for Battlefield Hardline next week on September 16th for Premium members. No date has been set for regular members but they did detail all the new content that will be available in the Robbery DLC.
The official Battlefield account on Twitter sent out the following notice, letting Premium members know exactly when they'll be able to get their hands on the Battlefield Hardline DLC.
The basic gist of the mode is described over on the official Battlefield Hardline website, where it's stated...
The theme of this pack is the Big Score: how to steal it, or how to stop it. The new maps and game mode in Battlefield Hardline: Robbery are designed to let criminal teams plan and execute the perfect heist; or, for law enforcement, to get the crooks in cuffs before they can pull it off.
It sounds a lot like Payday 2 or GTA V.
Some of the new maps include Precinct 7, which is the first snow map for Battlefield Hardline and seems to be a nod to the remake of Aassault On Precinct 13. There's also the docks, which has various sniping spots thanks to well positioned cranes, as well as a scout helicopter for aerial support. Given the cluttered nature of the map it affords players plenty of opportunities to get in and out of the area with tons of cover spots.
There's a new museum stage with lots of exhibits to hide behind or destroy, and the final new map is Break Pointe, an obvious throwback to Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 masterpiece Point Break. It's at least nice that Visceral Games has a bit of humor and pop-cultural influences going into the map designs to give players a little taste of cinematic history in their Battlefield Hardline experience.
In terms of additional weapons, gadgets and vehicles... there aren't a whole lot of new ways to mess around in the maps, but there are two new vehicles for players to commandeer, including a scout police helicopter and a pickup truck. Only a throwing knife has been added to the weapon cache and two new gadgets have been included in the game, including vehicle healing and a gas launcher.
Visceral Games did add quite a few camouflage skins for both weapons and vehicles, and they also included a new squad heist mode. The squad heist is a multi-stage mode identical to Payday 2 or GTA V, where a group of players must get a drill, break into two vaults, get the lot and get out all while cops attempt to mount an offense and prevent the crooks from escaping.
The Battlefield Hardline Robbery DLC will be available next week for home console and PC owners who are registered with Premium. You can learn more about the DLC over on the official website.
