Whether you support the private military corporation’s real-life actions or not, you can at least get an idea of what the Blackwater PMC does by playing their new game on the Xbox 360, using Kinect. While many gamers complain that Kinect has no business being used with first-person shooters, 505 Games seems to think otherwise.
Owner and founder of Blackwater, Erik Prince, commented in the press release about 505 Games and Zombie Studios’ new shooter, saying…
“Blackwater will have a unique appeal to gamers on the Kinect for Xbox 360 platform. The physical, visual and virtual feel of participating in a mission brings a level of excitement, realism and fun to the game that is hard to match,”
There are 25 different moves players can perform using Kinect, including knocking down doors, shooting, throwing grenades, crouching, more shooting, using the environment for cover, and even more shooting. Basically, anyone who isn’t an Iraqi citizen or knows someone who was mistakenly gun downed Blackwater mercs will probably feel right at home with the Blackwater FPS game.
The only downside is that if you were hoping for blood, guts, gore and glory, you’ll just have to find it elsewhere because Blackwater is rated ‘T’ for Teen. You’ll just have to settle for lightly squibbed blood like in Die Hard 4.0 (i.e., Live Free or Die Softly) , as opposed to the hardcore squibs from the original Die Hard.
Blackwater is available at local retailers, exclusively for the Xbox 360. Need to learn more? Feel free to visit the Official Website.
