2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced the full details on Borderlands 2's third DLC pack, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. This new content won't be out until next year, but there's a new trailer to watch in the meantime.

In the DLC, players set out on a hunting expedition with Sir Hammerlock. However, their trip to the jungle continent of Aegrus turns out to be less recreational than they hoped. The Vault Hunters will have to stop a new villain from accomplishing his dastardly scheme.

Gearbox and 2K promise new loot, quests, enemies, and a vehicle. The screenshots confirm that the vehicle is a fanboat, and the enemies include a tribe of jungle savages. These details fit the leaked features list from earlier in the week. I assume the rest of those leaks will turn out to be true as well.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt will debut on January 15th on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The only exception is in Europe and Oceania, where PS3 gamers will have to wait until the 16th. The add-on is priced at 800 MS Points, or $10. If you purchased the $30 Season Pass, though, you'll get access to Hammerlock, the previous two DLC packs, and the untitled fourth DLC.
