Destiny, the next game franchise from Bungie, might be arriving later this year. The French retailer MicroMania lists the shooter's release date as October 6th.

“Everything changed with the arrival of Voyageur," reads the translated description from the retailer (via AGB)." It was originally a Golden Age that allowed our civilization to establish itself in the solar system. But it could not last. Something we put ashore broke. The survivors built a city in the Voyageur before returning explore our ancient worlds where only mortal enemies awaited them."

The retailer adds that the game features a permanently connected world. The shooter is said to break with conventions regarding competitive and cooperative multiplayer. Players will create a character and then acquire customizable and unique equipment and vehicles.

According to MicroMania's listing (since edited to remove the title), the game will be released on October 6th. That seems like a very odd release date, as it's a Sunday. Games generally arrive in North America on Tuesdays and in Europe on Fridays. Retailers do have a tendency to guesstimate so you're right to be skeptical of the date.

The retailer also had box art of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. A rumor from last year suggested that the series would start on the current generation of consoles and then continue in the next-generation.
