If you've ever had the inkling to modify the story elements of The Witcher 2, create your own adventures, modify the game world or turn Geralt into Boba Fett and re-sculpt the game into a possible adventure of what would happen if Fett was a medieval gun for fire with magical abilities.

At this year's GamesCom, CD Projekt RED unveiled the official modding tools for The Witcher 2 called the REDkit. Head of CDProjekt studio, Adam Badowski, commented in the press release, saying...
“We have our own vision for RPGs: they should present an exciting story and give players lots of choices that really matter. The REDkit is designed to create adventures that way – mature, non-linear and engrossing stories set in vivid worlds filled with believable characters,”

Well the good part is that since the Witcher 2 has a ton of nudity you don't have to worry about modders wasting time on nude mods...right? Well, I'm completely curious to see what sort of content they come up with. For other games out there mod tools have enabled gamers to make a smorgasbord of fantastic content, some of which have even turned into brand new games such as Counter-Strike, DOTA or Killing Floor.

Some of the best mods I've encountered were from Max Payne 2 that converted the game into popular movies such as Equilibrium or The Matrix. If The Witcher 2 gets a dedicated mod team attached to make some truly unique content, then we could be looking at another success story just like DayZ, which is also getting its very own standalone game after moving more than a million copies of Arma II.

You can grab a copy of the REDkit right now. That's right, the kit is available for download directly off the Official Witcher Website. CD Projekt is definitely becoming one of the coolest game developers ever, and they deserve all the success they receive.
