Activision and Sledgehammer Games recently released some new DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The DLC contains four new multiplayer maps, a new entry in the Exo Zombies saga, and a brand new dual-purpose laser machine gun.
You can check out the OMH-directed energy machine rifle in the video below. It features two firing modes and the ability to cut enemies down from the other side of a wall.
It's nice to see Call of Duty finally taking on high-end weapons that can barrel through walls, but a high-powered laser gun isn't the only thing joining Advanced Warfare.
A new Exo Zombie grappling hook has also been added to the Call of Duty arsenal, enabling players to get atop hard to reach places. This will work especially well when the zombies have you cornered or you need to level the playing field by getting out of a tight spot.
Weapons and accessories are only as fun as the maps to play them on, which is why Activision unveiled four brand new competitive multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
As mentioned over on the Activision news blog by communications manager Scott Lowe...
For the competitive multiplayer crowd, Ascendance’s four new maps—Perplex, Site 244, Climate, and Chop Shop—will take the fight to new destinations, ranging from an alien crash site beneath Mt. Rushmore to the corridors of a black market exoskeleton complex.
The Perplex looks like something out of a Neil Blomkamp film – a sort of futuristic, South African facility of some sort. It's a small-to-medium-sized map for players who want to hone their close quarters combat skills.
Site 244 is set at the base of Mount Rushmore, where an alien space craft has crashed. In the screenshot over on the blog it looks like a giant Transformer hand buried in the wreckage.
Climate is another futuristic facility. It's actually set within a biodome and offers players a circular atmosphere to keep the action flowing fast and competitively.
The last new map is called "Chop Shop." It's a black market exosekeleton shop in the underbelly of the urban ziggurats. The shop looks a lot like a Terminator's mechanic bench. Players with the right number of Killstreaks will unlock a devastating turret to dispense some righteous justice against opponents.
Players will also get their hands on the latest Exo Zombies campaign that's part of the Ascendance DLC pack. It stars John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan and Jon Bernthal. New enemies, new weapons, and new surprises await players in the cooperative campaign.
The Ascendance DLC is available right now for those who own Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. You can learn more about the new DLC by paying a visit to the official website.
