Today Activision formally announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising, the second DLC pack for the multiplayer shooter. Uprising will be launching on Xbox 360 later this month.
The marquee piece of content in Uprising is a map called "Mob of the Dead." In these zombie co-op map, the undead have overrun Alcatraz Prison. Players take on the role of one of four surviving gangsters, played by Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, and Michael Madsen. In a new twist, fallen players will be sent to the afterlife.
Uprising adds four maps for normal competitive play as well. "Encore" takes place in London after a music festival. "Vertigo" lets players battle in a futuristic Indian high rise. "Magma" is set in a Japanese village plagued by volcanic eruptions. "Studio," a remake of Black Ops map "Firing Range," brings the action to a Hollywood movie lot.
Uprising, like the Revolution DLC, will cost $15 to download. Activision also offers a Black Ops 2 Season Pass. The $50 pass provides access to the four planned Black Ops 2 map packs at a $10 discount.
The April 16th release date leaked by a retailer ad is correct. Again, it only applies to Xbox 360. PS3 and PC gamers will have to wait a bit longer (probably a month).
