Everything old is about to become new again in Destiny as Bungie announces that a whole bunch of year-one Exotics are set to receive year-two updates in the upcoming December update.

It's not often that your holiday wish is for something that you already own, but I'm guessing there are quite a few Destiny players who will be excited to hear that some of their favorite Exotic gear from the game's first year are about to get a beefy update.

In Destiny, Exotic gear is the top of the totem pole, with weapons and pieces of armor in this category usually packing the meanest stats, as well as frequently offering some unique mechanics/abilities. When Destiny made the jump to year two with the launch of The Taken King, a whole bunch of new exotics were introduced into the mix. Along with all of that new gear, a select handful of year one Exotics were given stat boosts and tweaks that made them viable in the new missions.

While year one Exotics are still as useful as ever in normalized Crucible match-ups, the most common drops from The Taken King outpaced year one Exotics by a long shot. In other words, a lot of people decided to mothball their old favorite guns and pretend they no longer exist.

Bungie is apparently working to rectify that, bringing some additional Exotic gear into the new age with new stats and possibly even some hidden surprises that they didn't offer during the game's first year. As is becoming more common these days, this news was rolled out through Bungie's Instagram page in the form of a whole bunch of screenshots revealing which pieces of gear will be getting a year-two makeover in December.

Once the December update goes live, you'll be able to grab these bad boys as rewards through normal play or, if you already own the year one version, you can upgrade to the year two counterpart for a price. This makes those year one Engrams Xur sells on the weekends seem a lot more valuable now, too, since you might get something that can then be boosted to a year two monster.

Without further adieu, here's the list of year one gear set to get the year two treatment in Destiny's December update.

-Achlyophage Symbiote (Hunter helm)
-Apotheosis Veil (Warlock helm)
-The Armamentarium (Titan Chest)
-ATS/8 Tarantella (Hunter chest)
-Bones of Eao (Hunter legs)
-Nothing Manacles (Warlock arms)
-Peregrine Greaves (Titan legs)
-Radiant Dance Machines (Hunter legs)
-Twilight Garrison (Titan chest)

-Dragon's Breath (rocket launcher)
-Hard Light (auto rifle)
-Mida Multi-Tool (scout rifle)
-No Land Beyond (sniper rifle)
-Plan C (fusion rifle)
-Super Good Advice (machine gun)

So, anything in that list you're excited to see making the year-two leap? The correct answer was Super Good Advice. Anything else, other than Thorn and Gally, that you'd like to see brought up to speed, too? Let us know in the comments below.
