Dante Prettied Up In Devil May Cry HD Collection

Capcom will be re-releasing the first three Devil May Cry games in one package. The Devil May Cry HD Collection will be released in North America in early 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The $39.99 HD collection updates the visuals for each game. Trophies and Achievements support will be added as well. Capcom also mentions some bonus content but doesn't go into details.

Devil May Cry stars Dante, the son of a devil and human. The half-demon uses weapons and demonic powers to defeat the evil forces threatening mankind. Devil May Cry 2 added a new playable character, Lucia. Devil May Cry 3 revamped the combat system, introducing six fighting styles for the player to choose from.

The HD collection actually includes the "Dante's Awakening Special Edition" of DMC3. It adds Vergil, Dante's twin brother, as a playable character. Bloody Palace and Turbo Modes are also introduced in this edition.

Why the re-release? Well, Capcom's planning a reboot of the series, also due next year.. The HD versions of the older games may revive old fans' interest in the series and or make some fresh converts.
