From Software will be showing off more of their action RPG Dark Souls 2 in the coming week. GameTrailers TV will be showcasing the highly anticipated sequel in their April 11th episode.
Dark Souls 2 has been the subject of much speculation since it was announced at last December. One of the new co-directors said that the game would be "more straightforward and more understandable". This led fans of Dark Souls and predecessor Demon's Souls to believe that the game might become easier or more streamlined. The high difficulty and steep learning curve are considered signature features of the series by fans.
The GameTrailers staff shares some of their own worries in the above video segment. They worry, among other things, that the game might have constant waypoints or difficulty settings, The overall message is that they're worried that the game will go mainstream and lose what made the series so special. Their upcoming preview of Dark Souls 2 will presumably address whether these are all legitimate concerns.
From Software is developing Dark Souls 2 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Maybe they'll confirm on GTTV whether or not they plan on releasing the game this year. They previously seemed pessimistic about a 2013 release.
