I honestly never would have thought that Namco and Koei would join forces for a Gundam game based on the Dynasty Warriors concept. Obviously someone from each company thought that the idea was so darned crazy that it just might work. Well, you get to be the judge of that, now that the official demo is available on the PlayStation Network.

“The online demo of Dynasty Warriors:GUNDAM will offer gamers a glimpse of the unrivaled gameplay that has made it one of the most successful PLAYSTATION 3 titles in Japan to date,” said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO of Namco Bandai America. “The melding of KOEI’s Dynasty Warriors signature gameplay and Namco Bandai’s Gundam universe delivers a frenetic action-game experience for the next generation consoles.”

Omega Force, the guys and gals behind titles such as Winback 2: Project Poseidon and, of course Dynasty Warriors games, is also the driving impetus behind the Dynasty Warriors Gundam game. And for the first time in a long time – well, not that long – but the PSN will have a one-up on Xbox Live gamers as the Dynasty Warriors Gundam demo is now currently available on the PlayStation’s free network.

The retail game will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, later this summer. You can suit your knowledge of Gundam or Dynasty Warriors, or both, by visiting the Official Koei Website or the Official Namco Bandai Website.
