E3 2012: Ascend: New Gods Is Xbox 360's God Of War
By Will Usher published

Microsoft let loose a number of new game titles at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo and one of the titles really stood out. No, let me rephrase that, Signal's Ascend: New Gods was a show-stealing masterpiece and is a legitimate AAA exclusive that gives Xbox 360 gamers a God of War type experience.
I'm not going to waste a lot of words trying to desperately convince people that this is going to be a rocket-busting title. Instead, I'll let the following debut trailer for Ascend do all the convincing.
A lot of heat has been building up on Microsoft over the past two years for leaving the core gaming audience behind, something Nintendo had been accused of since 2007 with the Wii brand and their attempt to peddle motion-controls. However, Microsoft has shown with a game like Ascend they aren't just in it to win over casuals with motion-control crap, there are real games still in the making and this best kept secret will definitely quell some of the core-gamer rage. I especially love this game and how it houses an element of Shadow of the Colossus while also managing an intense hack-and-slash atmosphere. So epic.
I, for one, am excited to see what comes out of this game and hopefully it will live up to the excitement on display in the trailer.
You can keep up to date with progress on Signal's hack-and-slash, Super-Saiyan fighter by paying a visit to the Official Ascend Website.
