Now that the Evolution of PlayStation video series has gotten all of the consoles out of the way, Sony has shifted its sights to the thing that keeps bringing us all back for more: The games. Seeing as how the big announcement this has all been leading up to is this afternoon, this is likely the final clip in the “Evolution” series. Well, the last before they add a “PlayStation 4” clip, probably.

Once again, and just to keep expectations reasonable, there is no guarantee that the PlayStation 4 is going to be announced this afternoon. Given all of the buzz and the Evolution series, however, it's hard to imagine what else Sony could be planning for today's grand unveiling. We've now seen clips highlighting the PSX, the PS2, the PS2, a mobile clip combining the PSP and Vita and, now, we're can take an all-too-brief look at the reasons these consoles exist in the first place.

Since we're all about speculation these days, I'm going to throw another bold prediction out there. About a third of that clip focuses on Gran Turismo. Yeah, it has been a flagship PlayStation series for quite a while now, but it feels a little odd to single it out among more than 15 years worth of other titles. So here's my prediction: Gran Turismo 6 will be a PS4 launch title. I figure there's a pretty good chance that, along with the hardware, Sony will be eager to highlight a few games to pique everyone's interest leading into E3 and GT6 would certainly be a good one to announce. Or maybe they just really wanted to pick one game to highlight the experiences PlayStation stands for and I'm reading way to into it.

Thankfully, we're not too far out from having those answers Sony has been teasing for the past month. The big show kicks off this afternoon at 6 p.m. (EST).
