The conclusion to horror shooter F.E.A.R. 2 did not play out exactly as developer Monolith had planned. They had originally envisioned something far stranger.

The actual in-game ending would've stayed the same but the credits sequence would've been very different. Monolith created a music video to play while the credits scrolled. The music video starred Snake Fist, the tech wiz who guides you through part of the game via radio.

"This comical approach would have soured the serious tone of the surprise ending of F.E.A.R. 2," said Monolith's Daryl Affleck on the dev blog post that revealed the video. Yeah, probably.

Even though I thought F.E.A.R. 2 was pretty bland, the fact that Monolith sat down and made an entire music video does show that they had some genuine affection for the project. In light of this, my implication that they simply "churned out" this installment as though it were a machine on an assembly line seems inaccurate. Music video's below. If you like the song itself, you can download it at File Factory.
