Subscribe To FIFA 14 UK Cover Features Gareth Bale Updates

Electronic Arts is moving on ahead with the promotion of their upcoming premier football game (soccer to us Yanks), FIFA 14. Despite receiving a lot of negative feedback regarding blasting prices up in the UK for their games, EA still received some love for unveiling the cover art of FIFA 14 featuring up and coming superstar, Gareth Bale.

The video does the standard-fare job of hyping up the game and giving gamers a brief behind-the-scenes look at the motion capture process and having a specialty player partake in the design of the game. It's nothing special or spiffy but fans of the annual series will probably blow a load over the excitement of just being able to get their yearly dose of foot-plus-ball action.

You can check out the new box art of the UK's rendition of FIFA 14 below featuring Gareth Bale. You can rate it on a scale of 1 to 5, with one being lame and five being sick with the poll below. It's really hard to tell how to rate this given that all the FIFA covers seem to look very similar to one another, but then again, the same can usually be said for most sports titles, especially American football and the NHL titles. Oh well.

The game is running on some brand new technology, specifically being EA's brand new sports engine that will power all their upcoming next-gen games called the Ignite Engine. The company dolled out the news of the new engine during the May 21st reveal of the Xbox One.

The engine will supposedly allow for more streamlined graphics, more immersive gameplay by bringing the motions, movements and reactions to a more heightened level of realism. Whether or not this all plays out in a manner that gamers will appreciate or isn't just some PR bollocks to cash-in on a buzzword remains to be seen.

However, fans of Gareth will be able to see their boy in action while being made fully geared for top-tier foot-rocking action on the Ignite-powered FIFA 14. So, without further ado, feel free to vote and rate this year's cover athlete below.
