Ubisoft has decided it's high time to talk more about Far Cry 3's four-player co-op. They've sent out a four-minute walk-through video and also provided more information on the game mode's storyline.

The captain of the SS Astrid has decided to sell the cruise liner and everyone onboard to Hoyt, a warlord. Four crew members - the player characters - aren't too happy with this deal and decide to fight back. Their ultimate goal is to recover the safe containing the captain's profits from the sale, as well as their wages. They'll have to fight their way through Hoyt's army in order to do so.

Ubisoft has tried to give each playable character a bit of personality, too. Leonard is a sketchy ex-cop, Tisha is a former combat medic, Callum is a borderline psychopath, and Mikhail is an ex-gang leader who wants the money so he can embark on a new life with his family. Not the deepest characters you'll ever encounter in a game but then again, there are limits to what you can do with a strictly multiplayer experience.

The co-op missions have a completely different story than the single-player campaign. They're set six months before the events of the single-player experience, actually. I'm curious to see whether there will be any story connections between the two, as they take place on the same island chain.

FC3 will debut in Europe on November 29th and hit North America on December 4th.
