Fez, the throwback platforming title for the Xbox Live Arcade, has finally be rated by the PEGI, meaning that it will be released sooner rather than later. Well, at least everyone who wants to play the game believes that.

According to XBLA Fans, they picked up on the listing for Polytron's upcoming platforming title over at the official PEGI website, where the game received an 'E' for Everyone rating.

Fez is being developed by Phil Fisher and the game itself is slated for an early 2012 release. While the screenshot might give off the impression that Fez is an 8-bit looking side-scroller, you couldn't be further from the truth. The game itself uses an old-school style visual aesthetic but the world itself is entirely in 3D, giving gamers some very, very interesting platform puzzles to overcome. What's more is that the music and atmosphere blends many of the things we loved about the chiptune era with a slightly more, foreboding, modern-twist.

If the game is anything like what many of us are expecting it to be, then we just might have found 2012's version of Limbo. You can learn more about the upcoming indie title,Fez, by paying a visit to the Official Polytron Website.
