Last year you may have heard of FireBurst was from back in the summer of 2009 when the first set of screenshots became available. After a couple of years of going black in the media circuit regarding FireBurst, Zoo Games has returned with news that the explosive racing game will debut on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this summer.

Mark Seremet, Zoo CEO commented in the press release, saying…
“Fireburst is a game unlike anything we’ve delivered before,” ... “We hope to challenge the most avid racing gamers by offering enhanced customizations, multiplayer functionality and a dynamic array of cars and characters. Its unique concept, intense gameplay and stunning graphics are sure to excite even the most veteran gamers. ”

Powered by the Unreal Engine 3, FireBurst features 15 different race courses that range from paved roadways to offroad dirt tracks. And much like Big Red Racing (a classic from the hey-day of PC gaming) there are multiple vehicle categories with a total of 16 different vehicles to choose from.

What’s more is that the game sports a unique car customization tool with more than 250 different car skins available, allowing players to outfit their vehicles with a diverse look and feel using earnings after each race. And for those who crave some competitive buddy-up action, there is a four-player split-screen mode in addition to the online multiplayer component.

The game will be available this summer for $9.99 on the PSN and 800 MS points on XBLA. For more info feel free to visit the Official Website.
