In a new video, Ubisoft thanked gamers for participating in the closed beta for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. They also shared a number of player statistics that they recorded from the test.

The Ghost Recon beta was played by over 600,000 gamers. These diligent testers racked up 1.7 million hours over the course of two weeks. They shot 3 billion bullets and killed 99 million people in the process. About three thousand players managed to progress to level 50.

The test allowed players to try out three character classes on two maps. Beta keys were given to four groups of players: PlayStation Plus subscribers, Splinter Cell Conviction owners, Future Soldier pre-order customers, and select Uplay members. A number of sites (us included) gave out keys as well.

Future Soldier will debut on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 22nd. The PC version will arrive on June 12th. We'll see if the test inspired shooter fans to pick up the full version.
