Independent Gaming Receives Information Support From Indievision

When it comes to independent gaming, most times the developers just sort of jump out there and hope their project swims amongst all the other sinking indie games that try to make it to the mainstream market. It’s a brutal business, the video game industry. To help as a recourse to the uphill struggle most indie-developers suffer in the business, a new company called Indievision has launched to help provide information and support to the indie community.

Richard Hill-Whittall, from the ChaosEdge site that was used to aid a fellow indie developer get a game restored to the iPhone Appstore, announced that Indievision, a volunteer ran website and resource, would be available for independent game developers.

According to the press release, Richard stated that…

“During my involvement with ChaosEdge, I thought enough-is-enough; why is there not a group out there helping Indies and offering free information, support and advice to help studio owners build up successful studios and avoid some of the pitfalls & immoral business practices in the industry.”

Right on, Richard. We have enough money-guzzling, greasy-hand swindlers ruining legitimate businesses, so it’s good to know someone is establishing an organization to help a lot of one-manned independent developers get the necessary information and advice they need to survive in this cut-throat industry.

Like-minded developers, small teams and long-time independent game designers can use Indievision as an outlet to exchange information, ideas, and business information. You can learn more about Indievision by visiting the Official Website.
