Remember how Namco filed a trademark for the title Inversion a few months back? They revealed today that it's a third-person co-op shooter for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Provided seven screenshots, too.
Inversion is said to feature a "revolutionary gravity manipulation engine." Players will wield a weapon known as the Grappler that allows you to fling objects or use them as shields. You can also snatch enemies out from behind cover. The game will use the Havok Destruction middleware, which allows for destructible environments. Like many shooters, Inversion goes the man-versus-aliens route. The Lutadore, a mysterious foe armed with Grapplers, overruns a human city. A loose cannon cop and his neighbor make their way through the embattled town to find his daughter. In other words, looks like it'll be two-player co-op. Inversion is being developed by TimeShift studio Saber Interactive. The game's currently slated for a 2010 release. |
