Activision announced today that Kurt Cobain, the deceased lead signer and guitarist of Nirvana, will make an appearance in Guitar Hero 5. He's one of five exclusive in-game artists that the game will feature.

Cobain will be a playable character for the two Nirvana tracks featured in the game: "Smells like Teen Spirit" and a previously unreleased live version of "Lithium." Both songs are from Nirvana's 1991 album Nevermind.

There's probably going to be a lot of back-and-forth over whether it's moral to include Cobain's likeness in a game - the Internet loves to argue, after all. For what it's worth, Activision undoubtedly had to approach his estate for permission to use him in the game.
