Following Lost Planet 3's surprise announcement during Capcom's annual Captivate event, a batch of fresh screenshots for Spark Unlimited's shooter has surfaced.
Capcom's Japanese website outed the new images which depicts Lost Planet 3 incorporating a heavy presence of snow within the icy environment.
While Lost Planet 2 didn't perform favorably in both a commercial and critical regard, Capcom is taking the risk to continue the series and they've changed a few aspects around this time to prove just that. For the first time, the series won't be developed internally at the publisher. Instead, Spark Unlimited is taking over at the development helm.
As shown in the trailer, the game's protagonist is Jim Peyton, who has left Earth in order to take on a contract within E.D.N. III.
"Delivering a diverse range of gameplay, including third-person on-foot battles and intense first-person utility rig action, players will need to brave the uncharted terrain, hostile climate and threat of indigenous Akrid creatures. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience," said Capcom on what the game will offer.
Lost Planet 3 is due for a release in early 2013 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
