The all-in-one compilation of the Mass Effect series will debut next week worldwide. If you're a newcomer to the series, the Mass Effect Trilogy trailer will bring you up to speed.

The Mass Effect series takes place in the late 22nd century. Thanks to mysterious alien artifacts called Mass Relays, mankind is able to travel across the galaxy and meet several alien species. Commander Shepard, an officer in the Human Systems Alliance, learns of a race called the Reapers who are intent on wiping out all life in the Milky Way. Over the course of three games, Shepard and his rag-tag team must stop this threat.

Mass Effect Trilogy includes all three games in the series along with most of their DLC. BioWare pegs the total gameplay time for the trilogy at 75 hours; having played through all of it, I'd say that's a pretty accurate estimate. The trilogy, packaged in a foiled box set, will cost $59.99.

The trilogy will arrive on PC and Xbox 360 on November 7th in North America and on the 9th in Europe. The PS3 won't get it until December, because BioWare had never built a PS3 version of ME1 before.
