Media Molecule, creators of LittleBigPlanet, revealed their next big project at Gamescom. Tearaway is an innovative new adventure being developed exclusively for the PlayStation Vita.
Tearaway stars iota, a messenger trying to make a special delivery. Players must assist him on the journey through his papercraft world. You'll control all of his movement and traverse any obstacles in your path.
Players also have the power to alter iota's world at will. They can shake their Vita to send objects flying or rotate the handheld to turn the world upside down. Breathing on the microphone creates a powerful windgust. By tapping the rear touchscreen of the device, players can even rip the ground open. Media Molecule is intent on using every little feature of the Vita to create a unique experience.
MM says that, like LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway will allow players to be creative as well. The game will feature customization options that weren't disclosed today. It's safe to assume we'll be able to personalize iota's appearance like a SackBoy.
There's no mention of when Tearaway will be released. Considering how deep into 2012 we are, though, it probably won't arrive until 2013.
