New community screenshots have been released for Slightly Mad Studios' upcoming racing game, Project CARS. The screenshots feature more of the sports cars both new and old as well as those amazing custom liveries designed by the Project CARS community. The game really is shaping up quite nicely on the graphical front.

One of the main concerns for Project CARS has been in regards to the game's physics system. There seems to be a common complaint that it feels too “light” or arcadey. In some ways, I can actually see what some of the critics mean when watching the live-stream videos of the game in action. In comparison to rFactor and Assetto Corsa – especially Assetto Corsa – there's a varying degree of the way the weight of the cars are depicted in the driving experience.

I think in terms of simulation qualities it goes rFactor 2, Assetto Corsa and then Project CARS. It's certainly not a knock against any of the games but it's kind of obvious what gamers will be getting from each title this year and the kind of play experience each title will offer.

Anyway, looping back around to Project CARS...DSO Gaming spotted the new community screenshots for the title and you can check them out below. The game is set for release later this year for every major game console and PC. You can learn more about this crowd-funded title by paying a kind visit to the official WMD website.
