Sega Announces Project Hell Yeah!

Sega revealed today that they've teamed up with indie developer Arkedo Studios for a new game. Project Hell Yeah! has been in development at the Paris studio for nine months. Hopefully that name's not just the working title.

"We are absolutely delighted to have signed Arkedo,” said Mike Hayes, CEO for SEGA of Europe and SEGA of America. "Arkedo have proved to be at the forefront of innovative design and Project Hell Yeah! is sure to continue this trend."

Arkedo Studios is the company behind DS titles Nervous Brickdown and Bing Bang Mini. They also created the "Arkedo Series" that appeared on Xbox Live and PSN. Today's announcement didn't reveal what platforms "Hell Yeah!" was being developed for.

"Project Hell Yeah! was originally planned for the Dreamcast 2," reads a post on the game's new blog. "Or maybe we are filthy liars, making things up, and just looking for attention by stealing someone's else thunder, forging fake information just for the kicks of it. Yeah OK, we lied: there is no DREAMCAST2 planned. No Dreamcast2 at all. Never was."

The blog is slim on details about the game. However, one of the posts does mention that it will involve monsters:

"We love our monsters! They all are beautiful and unique snowflakes to us. We are so proud of them, the same way their Mum in Hell would. And, like their Mum in Hell, we care about them. We are always looking for creative ways to have them suffer a lot, fight for their survival, look for potential famous last words, not find them because they are busy agonizing, and then, actually… well, die."
