Sly Cooper's latest adventure, Thieves in Time, doesn't hit the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita until Feb. 5, but that doesn't mean you have to wait until then in order to try out the furry crook's latest adventure for yourself. A Thieves in Time demo is now available on the PlayStation Network for Plus subscribers and will be available for all come Jan. 29.

I actually noticed this demo was up on the PlayStation Network following this past Tuesday's regularly scheduled update, despite no mention of the demo being made on the PlayStation Blog or through any other source. When I tried to install the demo, however, the file came up as being “corrupted” data. I took this to mean that the demo had simply been posted too early as a mistake, deleted it, and completely forgot about it through the end of the week.

I was apparently right about the demo being live too early (or maybe there was just an initial snafu that screwed everything up) on Tuesday, as Gameranx is now reporting that the Thieves in Time trial didn't go live until just yesterday for PlayStation Plus subscribers. An expansion of the demo that was made available through the Ratchet and Clank Collection, the new Plus demo features the biggest sampling of the game you're likely to enjoy before it goes live in a couple of weeks.

If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can switch on the PS3 and grab your copy of the Thieves in Time demo right now. Everyone else, you can check it out come Tuesday. I guess that means I have to download the 3 gig file yet again. Lovely.
