Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows Now Slinging Into Retailers

Don’t get upset with me if I say that I haven’t been following this game for every screenshot and trailer released. Why? Well, I’ve been covering too many Spider-Man games too often. And we all know how many Spider-Man games have been made since the release of the third movie. Anyway, the good news is that this game is done and through with the hype stage, and it’s now heading to retail shelves.

“Spider-Man: Web of Shadows delivers the deepest combat system ever in the Spider-Man universe, whether it’s going vertical up the side of neck-breaking skyscrapers or web-slinging into action over them for high-altitude, high-octane aerial battles,” said Rob Kostich, vice president, global brand management of Activision. “The team has captured a truly captivating Spider-Man experience that combines mesmerizing combat and riveting visual effects with a compelling and unfolding storyline that places gamers in control of the action.”

The game actually has a unique premise (similar to the PS3 open-world, hero game, inFamous) in which the devastation of New York City can only be prevented by choosing allegiances wisely, and having the option of stopping the symbiote menace with either the red-suit Spidey, or the black-suit Spidey. It’s intriguing nonetheless, especially with the new, revamped combat system, and free-roaming world with destructible environments. Let’s just hope this isn’t The Incredible Hulk all over again.

You can look for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for all major consoles, including the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Dang that’s a lot of platforms. At least one of them should prove financially beneficial for Activision with Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. You can visit the Official Spider-Man Web Of Shadows Website for more info and details on the game. And remember to stay tuned in with Blend Games for more news and information on the latest games.
