A lot of fight-fans have seen trailers for Tekken 6 and grumbled to themselves how it doesn’t look bad but it doesn’t look very new either. It’s true, at first glance it does look like just another Tekken. However, a new interview trailer was released that explains exactly what’s new to the series and why gamers might be excited about the new features.

GameTrailers has up the new interview as they talked with the project director for Tekken 6, Katsuhiro Harada. They talk about the franchise’s story progression, a few of the characters and how the fighting has (and has not) evolved. For the most part this console iteration of Tekken 6 will basically be like the arcade rendition, save for some new items and modes.

When asked about evolving out of the 2D era of fighting that gamers seem to have become stolid with, Harada simply explains that maybe they’ll do what movies are doing and instead of engaging in 3D fighting…like Smackdown Vs Raw or Fight Night, they’ll just make it stereoscopic 3D. Eh, right.

Anyway, you can check out the new video interview below from GameTrailers and remember to stay tuned in with Blend Games for further news, updates and media regarding all things gaming.
