Terrorist Threat Made Because Best Buy Ran Out Of Modern Warfare 3 Copies

So this is what gaming has come down to: people getting so mad they threaten to blow up the place and kill all its employees because they can't buy a game. That’s what happened when a Denver man decided that his Hardened Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was worth the threat of blowing up Best Buy.

According to a Modern Warfare Blog, Denver resident Lomon Sar (which actually kind of sounds like a villain from Call of Duty) went to his local Best Buy to pick up his pre-ordered copy of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition, which retails for $100. When Sar showed up to pick up his copy, turns out his name wasn’t in the computer and they didn’t have his Hardened Edition reserved for him. After hearing this, Lomon went full epic-fail mode and according to the police report, threatened to blow up the building.

Speaking with the local news station, KUSA-TV Denver, Sar stated that…

“I put my hands up to my head and I’m like, ‘God, now I’m mad.’ I said, ‘I am so pissed right now I can blow this place up,’….“It’s just something you say when you get mad, you know what I mean? But they’re like empty threats. You can’t get in trouble for just saying you’re gonna bomb a building.”

Herp, derp…apparently this tool never heard of 9/11. I bet the Jihad were embarrassed this guy was aiming so low with his terrorist scheme...they're probably shaking their heads in shame right now. Could you imagine if this guy really was the final boss in a Call of Duty game? His main objective is that he’s out threatening to blow up the White House because CoD Elite’s servers were down for too long (And I want some royalties if you use that idea Activision, do you hear?! Do you hear me?!?!)

Anyway, let this be a lesson to us all: Video games are best left out of the mainstream, lest tools like this give gamers the globe around a bad name. I think I speak for us all when I say that it was better when the majority of "normal" people thought us gamers were all obese, sweaty, and homeless unless we were living in our mother's basement.

And Lomon, if you’re reading this, dude…you were going to blow up Best Buy over a game? You could have just picked up Modern Warfare 1 from the bargain bin, it has the same buildings and everything from Modern Warfare 3. Problem solved.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently available for major home consoles and PC for $59.99. If you want the limited Hardened Edition be prepared to fork over a little extra for that one, and try not to blow anyone up over it.
