Dirt bikes and racing across dynamic environments that explode and crumble around you is the name of the game in Tate Multimedia S.A’s Urban Trial Freestyle, out now for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
Let’s just go ahead and get this out of the way first: Yes, Urban Trial Freestyle, at first glance, appears to borrow pretty heavily from a certain other “Trial” game that’s been quite popular on the Xbox 360 these past few years. But just because a similar game exists doesn’t mean that there isn’t room for another offering. Just look at, well, 99 percent of all games on the market.
Now that we’ve gotten that bit out of the way, let’s take a look at what Urban Trial Freestyle has to offer.
So, basically, you’re trying to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible, all while pulling off the craziest tricks you can imagine. This, of course, means the game features loads of leaderboards and ghost times to race after, making Urban Trials ideal for score chasers and record breakers.
With various interchangeable parts, 64 bike configurations are available to rocket across more than 45 levels and five different cityscapes. Stunt Mode asks you to perform certain tricks at certain points while Time Attack is all about beating the clock.
Urban Style Freestyle is available now on the PS3 for $15.99 and on the PlayStation Vita for $9.99. There’s also a demo for the Vita version of the game. Plus subscribers can grab each version at a discount, marked down to $11.99 on PS3 and $7.99 on the Vita.
