Amy Adams Will Ditch Will Ferrell's Brother

Amy Adams, you are cute as a button and can get away with pretty much anything, but this time you may have gone too far. The romantic comedy Leap Year already sounds too cute for its own good, and when Matthew Goode signed on to play the guy who leads you around Ireland while you try to track down your boyfriend and propose to him, the inevitable ending of the movie was laid out loud and clear.
But now that Adam Scott has signed on to play the boyfriend, who will inevitably be jilted in favor of Goode's cynical innkeeper, the whole thing is just stretching belief. Didn't you all see how wooden Goode was as Ozymandias in Watchmen? And didn't you see how hilarious Scott was in Step-Brothers, or in the bit role as the male nurse in Knocked Up, or in this weekend's The Great Buck Howard? Sure, Scott excels at playing a prick, which is probably why he's cast in the Ralph Bellamy role of the guy who exists to be dumped. But at least he's got some personality!
The Variety story announcing Scott's casting says that filming begins this month in Ireland, which I suppose means it's too late for anyone to take my advice. Well, Adam Scott, if you're ever worried that people think you're just an asshole and you're unlovable, you can come sit by me.
