Arthur Christmas is coming to Blu-ray. If you are already guessing it will be in time for the holidays, you are absolutely correct. The animated flick, which follows Santa’s hi-tech operation to get presents to kids all over the world during the holidays, and the subsequent journey of Santa’s son, Arthur, will hit 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 6.

Arthur Christmas is one of those tricky movies that will presumably sell best during the Christmas season, thus explaining the film’s extraordinarily late at-home release. The flick initially hit the theatrical circuit nearly a year ago, over the Thanksgiving holiday, and around the same time the Twilight movie Breaking Dawn Part 1 hit theaters. Potentially because of the latter, Arthur Christmas failed to do well domestically, earning only a little over $46 million at the U.S. box office. However, the flick was extremely well-reviewed and is currenyl running at 91% on Rotten Tomates. So, if you did miss Arthur Christmas when it was in theaters, it should be a solid bet if you are willing to give it a shot.

Arthur Christmas supports a solid cast of voice actors, including James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent, and Imelda Staunton. It was also created by Aardman Animations and Sony Pictures Animation (The former behind Chicken Run and the latter behind the wildly successful The Smurfs). Special features with the set are not quite as exciting as the voice actors and producers involved, but there’s enough there to bring out a little holiday cheer.
