Okay, Brad Pitt’s goatee has gotten long enough. The Lost City of Z has to begin shooting sometime soon, right? Probably not. As reported by Digital Spy, a Paramount source said there is still no script for the film nor a start date.

The facial hair has to be for the movie and, considering it’s just about the same length as Percy Fawcett’s, I’d imagine we’ll be hearing more promising news about the production soon. Perhaps we’re just waiting for the handlebars to grow in. News of Pitt starring in the film adaption of David Grann’s non-fiction book came out over a year ago. The book tells the true story of Fawcett, a British explorer who disappeared while searching for an ancient city. Pitt optioned the book through his Plan B production company.

In addition to further beard watch, we’ll keep you posted on any production progress.
