Paul Feig was already set with one cast member from Bridesmaids in his next project, with Melissa McCarthy attached to play the title role in the upcoming spy comedy Susan Cooper, but apparently one just wasn't enough for the director. According to The Wrap, Rose Byrne is now in early talks to reunite with Feig and McCathy and become the second actor cast in the movie.

The script is being written by Feig, who will also serve as a producer on the project, but specific details about the plot have not yet been released. The director said that he was inspired to make the film by Martin Campbell's Casino Royale, and while the movie will be a comedy it won't be a spoof. Negotiations with Byrne are still in the early stages, but it was previously reported that the movie will have two lead characters, meaning that Byrne's role could be a major one.

While Byrne's relationship with Feig may be through comedy, she does have a few action titles sprinkled throughout her filmmography. In 2007 she was featured in 2007's 28 Weeks Later..., which had her racing around London escaping both zombie-esque monsters and the military, and in 2011's X-Men: First Class she had the chance to fight alongside Professor X and Magneto (even if she did end up paralyzing the former while attempting to shoot the latter). Her list of comedy credits is much longer, however, having starred in not only Bridesmaids but also Get Him To The Greek, I Give It A Year, and most recently The Internship. She most recently completed production on the upcoming Neighbors with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, and while that film won't be out until next summer you can watch the debut trailer below:

Next year she will also be featured as part of the awesome ensemble in Shawn Levy's This Is Where I Leave You, and she is currently filming the new adaptation of the musical Annie, which won't be out until next December.

The timetable for Susan Cooper is a bit up of a question mark right now. While Fox is likely excited to get another Paul Feig movie going after The Heat made over $200 million internationally this summer, both Byrne and McCarthy are busy actresses that would have to fit the production into their schedules. Perhaps it will end up being one of the big blockbusters that winds up coming out in 2015.
