Cabin In The Woods Reveals A Basement In New Image

A new image has been posted to the Cabin In the Woods Facebook page, and I don’t know why, but I swear I’ve seen it (or something like it) before. It’s similar to the cast shot that we ran after the trailer made its debut in December. Maybe it’s just that Chris Hemsworth’s varsity jacket’s so noteworthy that no matter where we see it, it strikes a chord?

Written by Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard (who also directs), Cabin casts handsome young talents as five friends staying in a cabin in the woods (duh) who run into strange problems. Everything we’re being told about Cabin by the lucky few who’ve seen it say that the less you know about the assorted twists and turns, the better it will play. People whose opinions I trust tell me the film never takes the turn that you expect it to take, and that it redefines the horror genre while also justifying the need for classic scarers such as this.

And now we know it involves a basement of some sort.

Cabin reaches theaters on April 13. But we’re going to catch up with it when it opens the South By Southwest Film Festival in March. Knowing how rowdy the crowds can get at the Paramount Theater for a SXSW screening – let alone Opening Night – it sounds like Whedon and Goddard’s Cabin is a gold-star selection. Can’t wait.
