There is a lot of clever editing going on in this clip from 21 Jump Street, in which the cops played by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are on their jobs as bike cops and accidentally happen upon some real, serious drug dealers. The scene happens in the movie pretty much as you see below, but to make it green-band and playable on your office computer, they had to edit out a lot of profanity, including Tatum's character's version of the Miranda Rights that includes a lot of F-bombs. Just remember as you watch the clip below that, as funny as it is here, it's even more ridiculous in the final movie.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, they of the amazing animated movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street goes off in a lot of comedic directions you might not expect-- the shot here, in which the dramatic music cuts out and you see Hill pedaling slowly over a dinky bridge, is just the beginning of the ways they use the camera to make things funnier. I'm not allowed to give my full opinion on 21 Jump Street just yet, but as you can probably tell I liked it a lot, and expect you will too once the movie opens on March 16. It might not be that evident in this clip, but the movie proves that Channing Tatum has the comedic timing to equal or maybe even surpass his co-star Jonah Hill-- and that's just the beginning of the awesome surprises the movie has in store. We'll have a full review up on Monday, but in the meantime, you can safely mark your calendar to catch this release.
