Clark and Ellen Griswold To Return In Super Bowl Ad

If you hadn't already noticed, Chevy Chase is back. Be it guest starring in TV shows (Chuck, Family Guy) or starring in his own (Community), Chase has reignited his career at age 66. Though he has not yet continued his resurgence on to the big screen, he is coming back to one of his roles that made him a star back in the 1980s.

According to Us Magazine, Chase, as well as co-star Beverly D'Angelo, will be bringing back the characters Clark and Ellen Griswold as part of a new ad campaign for HomeAway vacation rentals. The commercials will premiere on Superbowl Sunday next year and will feature the Wagon Queen Family Truckster, though there has been no word as to whether or not any of the old Rustys or Audreys will be back as well.

It kind of sucks that their only purpose would be to hock wares, but this will certainly be something to look forward to. Along with Irwin Fletcher and Ty Webb, Clark Griswold was one of his best characters, and, who knows, it could serve as an audition tape to get the parents into the reboot. And now a flashback to a classic moment:
