The Creepy Trailer For The Devil Inside Arrives Online

There are two movies that tackle the subject of demon-possession set to hit theaters early next year. One of them is The Devil Inside, a horror film about a girl who wants to understand what happened to her mother. Based on this trailer, horror fans are in for something really creepy with this one.

The Devil Inside stars Fernanda Andrade, a girl whose mother murdered three people during her own exorcism. In the hopes of understanding what happened to her mother, she sets off to investigate the situation and meet with her mother, who has since been institutionalized. The trailer below, which was posted at Apple’s trailer site, should give you a good idea of what we’ll be in for with this one.

What better way to start off a scary-movie trailer than with a 911 call? The shaky-camera/point-of-view perspective seems to be the preferred shooting style for a lot of horror movies these days, and I’m thinking that’ll work well for a film like this. The Devil Inside is set to open on January 6, 2012. As Deadline points out, this Paramount/Insurge film is one of two possession-related movies set to debut that weekend. Lionsgate’s The Possession also hits theaters then. That one follows a haunted antique box, which is purchased by a young girl at a yard sale.
