Denzel Washington's Heroism Is Called Into Question In The New Flight Trailer

After a string of wince-inducing animated duds, imaginative filmmaker Robert Zemeckis is looking to get back into our collective good graces with the live-action drama Flight. Denzel Washington stars as Whip, an airline pilot who becomes a national hero when his incredible skills and ability to stay cool under pressure enable him to save every life aboard a commercial flight that broke up in mid-air. However, Whip's reputation is called into question when some disturbing details about his state of mind come to the surface.

We've already gotten a glimpse of some jaw-dropping action with the drama's first teaser. Now, with less than a month to go before this high-flying feature rolls into theaters, Paramount Pictures is revealing a fuller look at Flight with the 90-second spot viewable below courtesy of Yahoo:

Having Washington as a headliner is sure to score Flight audience attention, but Zemeckis looks to be delivering more, giving the Oscar-winner the meaty role of a complicated hero to sink his teeth into, along with a supporting cast of celebrated actors, including Oscar nominee Don Cheadle, Oscar winner Melissa Leo, and legend in his own time John Goodman. With a base like this, Zemeckis might not only snag his first outright hit in some time, but also get some award season notice.

Flight will make it's world premiere at the New York Film Festival as the center of its Closing Night Gala on October 14th. A theatrical release will follow on November 2nd. To learn more on about this feature check out our Blend Film Database.
