Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Sequel Trailer: Rodrick Rules

Unless you are an elementary schooler or happen to know one, you probably have forgotten all about Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the spring release from last year that managed to make $75 million worldwide off a $15 million budget, presumably by entertaining a lot of kids who loved the book series and didn't care that the rest of the world had never heard of it. Now, equally under the radar, there's a sequel coming, this one titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. I had no idea who Rodrick was before watching the new trailer that premiered today at Yahoo! Movies, but if you're curious, you can have the same learning experience I did by watching the trailer below.

The movie seems to wring humor from pretty much all the life-endingly awful scenarios imaginable to a fourth-grader: walking into church with a chocolate stain on your pants that everyone thinks is poop, dealing with an older brother who's better than you at everything, being ignored by the pretty girl in school and being tormented by the girl who definitely has cooties. There's not much in there for grown-ups, though if you're a Steve Zahn completist, you can wonder how he found his way in there as much as I am.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 opens March 25, opposite Sucker Punch and The Beaver, so plan your family moviegoing accordingly.
