Disney Spawns A Gemini Man

One sweltering summer day, as the cool morning breeze gave way to the oppressive heat, my friend and I rode the Gemini roller coaster at Cedar Point Amusement Park 11 times in a row. We became known around the park as the Gemini Men; fighting the urge to upchuck our corn dogs and soda when running back into the Gemini line. As with any inspirational true story, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood bought the rights to the story and put it on the big screen, and that’s exactly what Walt Disney Pictures will do with Gemini Man.

Of course, the story has been Hollywood-ized, and it’s now a big-budget action flick that has nothing to do with my roller coaster riding. Writer David Benioff, who will pocket a cool $2 million for his action movie, will re-work his story of an over-the-hill hit man forced to do battle with a younger clone of himself, says Variety. Jerry Bruckheimer, master of empty action light shows, is set to produce the film. I suppose I’ll have to wait a bit longer for my 15 minutes.
