Exclusive Swordfighting Clip From Hara-Kiri: Death Of A Samurai

Prolific Japanese director Takashi Miike, the guy behind Audition and 13 Assassins, is back this summer with another movie with an irresistible title. Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai is now available on VOD and will be in a limited 3D release in theaters starting this Friday; it follows the quest of a samurai to ask permission to kill himself in one man's courtyard, only to have the man tell him a story of another ronin who made the same request. But this isn't some slow movie about storytelling and the ritual of a samurai-- where there are samurai, there are swords, and you can check out one example of the movie's sword fighting style in this exclusive clip below:

The story of Hara-Kiri gets even more complicated, actually-- the samurai winds up telling his own story, and as the synopsis tells it, it comes "with an ending no one could see coming." If you want to know more, check out Hara-Kiri either on VOD or in theaters this week.
